You can skip/delete/strike my latest comment:
I am so embarrassed…while testing this Spotify Connect i got 1 RPI with volumio and 1RPI with max2play setup.
The Spotify Plugin not working (now it does) was from the Volumio team #oops
On Max2play I prefer only Spotify Connect for now before trying to get a joined setup with Spotify Plugin (triode/Mherger)

Had the same issue, but deactivating after reboot, reinstalling and rebooting again did the trick for me. So Spotify Connect works again, but Spotify plugin does not at the moment cause i cant activate it anymore. Maybe it’s also blocked by Spotify like Librespot was?

FYI The Plugin page is online 😉

I just installed a fresh copy of Max2Play to test and……It works like a charm!!!
    GREAT WORK!!!

Watch out though, cause when starting first time it can be very loud (so turn down your speakers at first 😉
I use it with my digiberry DAC+ on my RPI2
Now if it can be managed from my Raspberry Touchscreen it would be like a dream come through (for real) and combined with multiroom…well, it would bring Max2Play back on number1 for me personally..

Anyway i can help implement this so we can use it with touchscreens? LMS is out of the windows for me then, especially if there is another way to use webradio. I would love that combo and won’t be needing more that way…

It would be nice if the maintainers of max2play can tell us if they are gonna embed spotify connect into their build cause that would be the best way to get it integrated. For testing purposes i installed volumio2 on 2 devices and it works great with the spotify plugin for browsing and playing (play)lists etc. For Spotify Connect to work there is another plugin by ballbuze that you have to install separately but it obvious doesn’t work together with the first plugin. The only downside is that you manually have to switch between those 2 plugins.
Hopefully Max2play can and will counter-attack this nice piece of work?

Honoustly most of the time i want a spotify to play ‚radio‘ based on a couple of songs which will improve using it.

Thanks! Did all those steps already yesterday, i forgot to disable the spotify-plugin in LMS, i think (but not 100% sure) that’s why it didn’t work.
I works, but of course we still need max2play to implement this cause i can’t use it with the RPi Touchdisplay and Connect at the same time so i won’t need LMS anymore… #justwaitandsee

@cpu Thanks for sharing, geat news, but i have 4 questions:

    1. How to check if install worked and if it’s running
    2. Doesn’t it need an api-key anymore like i used it before?
    3. Where do i edit squeezelite (command-line)settings?
    4. I think related to those 3 questions above: when i start spotify on my android it doesn’t show ‚SpotiPi‘

Hope you can shed some light on this!
    😉

Would like to contribute to get this Spotify Connect working on Max2play. But i am not a programmer!
I will look into the plugin-builder but changes are i will not be able to get this working due to my absence of programming-skill 😉
In the mean time maybe someone on this forum and/or developers will have a look at this:
    https://github.com/balbuze/volumio-plugins/tree/master/plugins/music_service/volspotconnect

Maybe it’s easy to implement if allowed?
    Cheers!

Another *good* reason to get this working might be that with this Spotify Connect plugin it won’t be needed to run LMS only to use Spotify.I for once mostly use Spotify and only now and then webradio or my local music. With this plug in I can hear Spotify in the room of my choice!

I hope you guys will manage to get this future working! Also if you need some testing i’ll be happy to assist. Like q20 i am able to install it manually on my ‚old‘ RP2 with Hifiberry DAC+ and 7″touchscreen, but switching between my phone and touchscreen for control will give some problems with audio signal not getting released and or obtained and the described distortion in Kodi.
