longtime paid user as well.. When I couldn’t get any assistance here, like others months ago, I went and gave PCP
a go… been working a treat since, I don’t experience the issues M2P was having. I was cleaning up my bookmarks
and thought I’d see if anything ’new‘ had come along.. alas, no.

thanks M2P for carrying the torch all those years.

It seems like M2P has been abandoned. Not one response in 2 weeks (?).

I have 5 LMS Radios and A Boombox and have mostly been pleased with the performance of my system under M2P,
except for when the system experiences a glitch, and then the only solution seems to be to re-image the SD card
    and start over.

M2P was a saviour back when it first came out, as I don’t even remember the name of the system that kept LMS going
after Logitech abandoned support, but things were sketchy until M2P put it all under control.

I think my journey here is over, like you, just now experiencing a failure of the SS to stay up and running
and my post asking for help has now been labeled as „spam“.

Thanks for mentioning PiCore, I will have to check that out, I love my music and the LMS system flexibility.

Just adding some ’new‘ info I got when ssh-ing into m2p..

rfkill: cannot open /dev/rfkill: Permission denied
rfkill: cannot read /dev/rfkill: Bad file descriptor

    I’ll be rebuilding it soon.

well, it is a 3B+, and when I first installed the image, the M2P user interface is the one we’ve all been accustom to using.

After a sudden stoppage while streaming, with no response via LAN (M2P and LMS were unresponsive), I pulled the plug and rebooted.. it was successful after 2 tries and the screen shot above is the result..

I was thinking about upgrading to a RPi 4 along with a bigger ext hdd.

    thanks for your reply.

is there a better how-to for setting up a samba on my LMS server?

I had my LMS (RPi) server running M2P for a long time.
I shut it down in 2019 when I sold my house.
It’s 2022 and I’m finally in a new house, so I tried setting up
my LMS server again.. It was dead, So I re-imaged the RPI sdcard
and have successfully been using LMS since.
I have new music to load onto my LMS and I can not get this samba share
thing figured out.(I never had a problem uploading files to it from a Win10 or Linux computer)

My ext device (2.5″ USB HDD) is the same one from my original set up, and is plugged into the RPi,
and I made no changes to the install (RPi is set up with however M2P installs), other than
    pointing LMS to my music

My media folder on the RPi, as shown by the „settings“ options of the LMS,
that I ideally want to share is /mnt/extdrive
    or, at a minimum, /mnt/extdrive/Music

The Filesystem Mount page of M2P tells me:
Elements in /mnt/extdrive (Device /dev/sda1 with UUID 4E1AEA7B1AEA6007

    I’m having the same problem

Raspberry Pi can't access Max2Play web interface

I have re-imaged a couple times, everything works until Max2Play reboots. then I got nothing for web access. LMS still sees and controls the player.

    interesting.

I was unable to SSH into the other Max2Play device I re-imaged earlier this year,
The Server Rpi does accept ssh access.

All three of these units are running stock M2P software, so the default user/pw combo should work .

Just experienced this problem again. previously, after my post above, I was able to access my LMS Server, and play local content.

tonight, with loss of WAN, the LMS page only partially loaded (nnn.nnn…:9000)and I couldn’t do anything.

now that wan is back up, I was able to get the requested DEBUG, but the system is up, so is it still helpful?

    update:

rebooted the Rpi. would ping but now not play anything via LMS nor allow web or ssh connection.
rebooted again and there was only a ping response. the device wasn’t showing up in LMS.

I have had a similar problem in the early days of using a Rpi with squeezebox (pre Max2Play days)
and it ended up being a memory card problem. So that is what I will try this time.
