    Hi BavarianBarbarian,

You are probably looking for the „Stream to Squeezebox Server“ function in our Bluetooth plugin. This allows you to stream directly to the Squeezebox Server and all connected players with your smartphone. To do this, the Bluetooth plugin must be installed on the same device as the Server.

Here is the according Wiki page: https://www.max2play.com/en/wiki/bluetooth-direct-stream/

    Hi cramcram,

Thank you for the tip. On Windows/Chrome there seems to be no such problem. I’ll see if there is anything that can be done here. So far I have not been able to reproduce that bug.

    Hallo Roomer,

    Hi Andy,

To narrow the problem down a bit further: Do the dropouts happen without the players being synchronized? For example when playing on only one player? Did the dropouts occur with the Internet streams even if no hard disk was connected to the server and you operated the server with a single power supply? I will pass your request on to our chief developer, maybe he has an idea how to solve this.

    Hi jcu-muc,

These Max2Play versions always come without a kernel update. We only include kernel updates when we create new download images. However, this update only applies to the Max2Play scripts and the web interface.

    Hi ackray,

Depending on what application you want to achieve, you can select either the DAC+ selection for simple output or the BeoCreate selection for our beta solution for DSP profiles.

    Hallo motamas,

Funktionieren eventuell andere Musik-Streams?

    16. April 2020 at 14:37 #48520

    Hi Andy,

Did you change anything on your system before the problems occurred? For example an update to the latest Max2Play version? Which Max2Play version do you use on your server? Did you connect the server to the internet via LAN or WiFi? Did something change in the Health Checker at the „Settings/Reboot“ tab when the dropouts occurred?
Apart from that the log file from the Squeezebox server could help us to identify the problem. You can find it in the server settings under „Information“.

    Hi cramcram,

We have now added LMS 8.0 to our Beta. It will then be officially available in v2.52.

    Hallo babydoom,

    Hi Toby,

Your problem is very special, so unfortunately I can only recommend you to ask your questions again in the Squeezebox Server forum. Maybe the creator of the plugin has another idea. Otherwise an update to the LMS nightly 8.0 version might help.

    15. April 2020 at 15:09 #48495

    Hi Tim,

You should be able to do this by installing the „Stream to Squeezebox Server“ in our Bluetooth plugin. With Squeezebox control apps you can then easily switch between Bluetooth sources and your other sources while always using the players you want.

    Hallo gue0411,

    Hi Kajan,

If I understand you correctly, the correct sound card is still selected in the Squeezelite menu after the reboot, but you can no longer output sound? Do you connect your Pi to the Internet via WiFi or via LAN?

    15. April 2020 at 14:47 #48489

    Hallo Laebbisch,

    Hi Run51,

Do the problems also occur with other file formats? Does the mute only appear at the beginning of playback or while you are playing a song? Which Pi and which sound card do you use? Which version of Max2Play?

    15. April 2020 at 14:05 #48486

    Hallo abnerd,

Was steht denn in der Debug info vom Kameraplugin?

    15. April 2020 at 13:48 #48485

    Hi cramcram,

As described by jcu-muc, you can already manually install LMS Version 8.0 on the plugin page of the Squeezebox Server. We will test this version ourselves and, if everything works, add it to the selection.

When updating from an older kernel to a new one and when updating packages, many problems can arise due to changed config files, incompatible versions etc. Since we offer a lot of options with Max2Play, we have to test them all, if we want to support a new kernel. There is a reason why you cannot easily upgrade from jessy to stretch or buster. There are simply too many dependencies. The problem is not the kernel itself, but the update. Nevertheless, we will examine the current kernel and look for a solution, but this may take some time.

    Hi jo308,

First, please make sure that you can play music on your Pi using the Squeezebox Server. The best thing how to test this, is playing a radio stream. If that works, you’ll need a network share to access your music files on your PC. In the system settings of your PC you should find a corresponding option for network sharing. Then, by right-clicking on the folder you want to share, you should find the option to grant access to the folder on the home network. Then you can connect a network path in the Filesystem/mount plugin. You can either display the available devices or enter the path manually. Via a Windows PC, file sharing is done via Samba by default. In this case you have to enter „cifs“ in the third input field. For a more detailed explanation, you can also click on the „Show help“ button.

    Hi ackray,

In order for Spotify Connect to work with your sound card, you should select it under „Output Device“ instead of ALSA. I then recommend you to enter the URL of the Squeezebox server under „Spotify/Squeezelite automatic Audio-Switch“ so that Squeezelite and Spotify do not get in each other’s way.

    Hi Raymond,

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Soundcore Flare 2. We are happy that everything works. Be sure to let us know if you encounter any problems with Bluetooth in the future.

    9. April 2020 at 15:33 #48431

It seems that the problems with the kernel updates are somewhat „normal“. Depending on how extensive the kernel updates are, they can make the system unusable. We have no influence on that.

Hence the question of what the kernel update is used for. The temperature fix was already included in the update from last summer. It would be good to know what the updates are needed for so that we can offer updated image versions for particular cases if necessary.

We ask for your understanding that we have no capacity to regularly offer a new image with the latest kernels for download.

    9. April 2020 at 14:57 #48430

My colleague on site will test this again and try to recreate the problem. As soon as he has results and we can offer a possible solution, I will contact you again here.

I apologize that this topic is dragging on for so long.

    Hi woakesd,

Sorry for the late reply. If you buy a license in our shop, the email address you used for the purchase becomes the license code itself. So you just have to enter your email address in the input field for license activation on the Settings/Reboot page.

    7. April 2020 at 15:27 #48417

    Hi Samasago,

You can update the kernel via the Raspberry Settings tab in the Max2Play interface. You can find the corresponding button at the bottom of the page. Let us know if that solves the problem.

    7. April 2020 at 15:24 #48416

    Hi ehrnfldm,

You can download a fresh image from our download page and burn it to the SD card. If you then restart the Pi, you can set up Max2Play from scratch.

    7. April 2020 at 15:16 #48415

    Hi Bencat,

Sorry for the late reply. Did your system work before updating to the latest Max2Play version? Did you update your system via the button on the Settings/Reboot page or via the Raspberry settings?
