Thank you for the detailed report. I’ll try to recreate the issue here this week and get back to you asap.

    8. Januar 2019 at 13:38 #43260

Yes, obviously it depends on various factors but you can just try it out. The server and audioplayers are free plugins as is the image download. If you have two Pis already, set both up as players and one as server and see how the sync works.

    Hi John,

It’s in the Settings/Reboot menu on the right item bar.

The dropouts are probably either a WiFi or a file processing issue. You might try using a WiFi dongle for a while to rule out the former and try longer playback with low-res mp3 to make sure it’s not connected to the latter.

Okay, please make a backup of your current image and burn a new one.

Make sure you reboot after each installation that prompts you to and observe the yellow text to make sure it is the same as I copied.

    7. Januar 2019 at 15:59 #43212

    Yes.

    Does the button still blink?

    Hi T39,

Please check the Health Checker in Settings/Reboot and the debug info from the Squeezebox Server tab.

    Hi Jim,

Odd, we had a user that was very happy with his Meridian Explorer 2 under Max2Play.

Here are his topics on the subject:
    Topic 1
    Topic 2
You can also contact him on Twitter if you use it. His name is @Eyerex

Thank you for the suggestion, we will add info Etcher as well.

    Hi Martin,

You can use our API examples plugin to copy the HTTP command for Max2Play reboot. You can use this command through any device in your network or an existing home automation setup or even in your own VPN solution to access it from anywhere.

    Hi bradovic,

Please check the advanced options of MPD and paste them here.

We recommend using the advanced solution with Squeezebox Server which is Max2Play’s primary solution.

Since the DAC works with AirPlay, it probably blocks the sound card for play with MPD. If you use MPD, you cannot use simple AirPlay simultaneously. There are other solutions for normal playback and AirPlay under the advanced option.

    Hi Weka,

Thank you for detailing your issue. I tried the setup and it was successful with a new tester. The last lines should read:

    (Reading database ... 95%
    (Reading database ... 100%
(Reading database ... 82647 files and directories currently installed.)
    Preparing to unpack .../shellinabox_2.20_armhf.deb ...
    Unpacking shellinabox (2.20) ...
    Setting up shellinabox (2.20) ...
Processing triggers for systemd (232-25+deb9u4) ...
    Processing triggers for man-db (2.7.6.1-2) ...
Finished - ShellInABox is now Available!

    successfully added to autostart

Please tell which Pi and version of Max2Play you are using as well as the other steps you have taken with your setup thus far so I can try to recreate the issue here.

For now, you can use software like Putty to access SSH manually. The login is user: pi pw: max2play

In the plugin Password Protection you can check whether SSH is active.

    Hi Sascha,

The biggest challenge in this setup will be to establish a stable wireless connection. Depending on the distance, this might be tough.

You should probably use additional WiFi dongles with antenna to increase the connection strength. But even then, your routers need to have a great connection in order have an acceptable signal.

If at all possible, I would recommend considering an option with ethernet cable.

    Hi bvlet,

Perhaps your installation was interrupted somehow in the first instance. Please select advanced in the audiophonics tab and reboot.

    Hallo Christoph,

Danke für den Tipp, ich werde dies mit unserem Chefentwickler besprechen.

    Hi guys,

First of all, thanks again to Cassio for the expert help.

    @Bruce
: Please send us an email with the issue and we can initiate steps for a replacement.

    Hi FreFi,

Do you use your Pi on a WiFi or ethernet connection? Also, which Pi version do you use? We do not encounter particularly slow performance in Spotify Connect Plugin.

    Hi Peter,

Are the delays still as large as in your original post? We will set up a new image with Pi 3B and see if we can recreate it. Very odd that there are not more people reporting this issue if it is a general one. Could you paste the debug info from your Spotify Connect plugin?

    3. Januar 2019 at 12:19 #43064

    Hi guys,

    @FZinforen
: Frohes neues Jahr!

@Cassio: Thanks again for the great help you are providing here.

    3. Januar 2019 at 12:12 #43062

    Hi Gilad,

How many 3B do you have running? Does your server run on one of them? Do you have them connected via WiFi or ethernet cable? Do you use a normal router for your network?

    3. Januar 2019 at 12:11 #43060

    Hi Jim,

    Happy New Year!

We do not really have a lot of Odroid interaction anymore, so I hope this helps regardless of our shift to Raspberry Pi.

Try adding „hw:1“ to the command line options of Squeezelite.

Equalizer does not work with this preset but it ensures the best audio output quality.

    3. Januar 2019 at 12:07 #43058

    Hi RienDuTout,

The install of the Server does take little to complete. Please try installing the new version 7.9.1 again on your device and make sure the sequence with the yellow text runs all the way through.

If the SBS still does not start, please check the debug info and copy the text here.

    3. Januar 2019 at 12:05 #43057

    Hi Andy,

Audio Input is tricky and we only offer Bluetooth as a built-in solution for Input.

The problem is there are multiple encoding and decoding processes that lead to delay and sometimes bad audio performance.

For custom solutions you can search our forums for the input plugin for Squeezebox „wave input“.

    3. Januar 2019 at 12:02 #43055

    Happy New Year, guys!

    @Peter
/Cassio: Welcome to forums and thanks so much for helping out other users during my time off 🙂

@Herve: The best graphical interface we offer is Squeezebox with Jivelite. However, you can also use Kodi as an alternative and obviously you can also manually install any other interface you might want.

    Hallo Poseidon,

    Frohes neues Jahr!

Danke für die Info, ich markier das Topic als gelöst.

    Hi John,

    Happy New Year!

Thank you for the detailed report on your situation, this makes my job much easier.

The crackle might be fixed by adding „-C 5“ to your command line options in Squeezelite.

Please update your Settings/Reboot page with the Health Checker when you have the dropping off issue to make sure this not related to the performance of the Pi hardware.

Also, check the Squeezebox Server debug info when playback commences on high-end audio files to see if there are any error messages.

    Hi wmupchurch,

Thanks for the feedback! We already recommend using Etcher alongside WinDisk. The latter has a specific version by HardKernel that overwrites the card with zeroes before burning the new image which can be useful. But otherwise Etcher is indeed a recommended alternative.

    3. Januar 2019 at 11:37 #43050

    Hi Josh,

    Thanks for the detailed logs.

By auxiliary you mean the built-in audio jack?
Can you look at the Health Checker when playback drops? Is there a performance spike?

Do you use WiFi for your BT-setup, too? The BT and WiFi on 3B+ share the same small chip for operations so this might be a source of issue for your BT playback.

    Hi Munich,

Thanks for the tip, we’ll check this out and see if it’s an option. However, this might be problematic because it has some prerequisite software that also needs to be installed which might interfere with Max2Play’s other software.

However, you can already try setting it up via SSH (sudo su to get root rights) and let us know how it works on Max2Play.

    3. Januar 2019 at 11:30 #43048

    Hi Josh,

    Happy New Year!

We will set up the same system here with a 3B+ and fresh image and see if we can recreate it, today. Thank you for your detailed reports.

    Hi Andy,

    Happy New Year!

Please open a new topic if you have a specific technical request and I’ll make sure to help you out.

    Hallo Matthias,

    Frohes neues Jahr!
