    Hi wassell9,
Sorry about the late response. This topic in the Raspberry Pi forums might help you: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=100066
Max2Play is based on Raspbian Jessie lite, so the tutorial there should apply for our images as well.

    Hi gstalnaker,
Have you expanded your filesystem („expand filesystem“ button under Settings/Reboot)? If not, we would recommend doing so.

Please check whether your sound card selection is correct (should include hifiberry amp in the name) and whether the MPD still has autostart activated, if so, deactivate.

    Hi Rheinlaender,
I just tested it and things like the mysqueezebox login, plugins and the music folder selection are definitely kept.

    Hi Bull,
Please set the language and the time zone in the Settings/Reboot to your region. This should fix it.

    Hi Patrick,
I just test the RPi Display installation for the 2,8 Adafruit again and after rebooting, the touch control works fine. Please try using a fresh image and installing the 2,8 Adafruit display in the RPi Display plugin.

    Hi asplundj,
Please activate the option „HDMI Force Hotplug“ in the Raspberry Settings.

    Hi René,
Your format would indeed be the problem. Please try formatting your drive in a more regular format like NTFS or exFAT.

    Hi martyb,
We do not recommend doing a hard switch off under any circumstance. The Pi is built to run continously and uses very little power (at most ca. 2 dollars a year).
Corruption of the SD card is a possibility, especially if you have software like the Squeezebox Server installed which might be writing on the card at any moment.

    Hi bjarne,
You might want to try out the automatic switch for Squeezelite and Shairport, detailed in our Top 5 Tweaks article: https://www.max2play.com/en/2016/11/top-5-tweaks-for-the-optimal-max2play-setup/
Regarding your other issues, please try to detail your steps you have taken so far and your setup so we can help you more accurately.

    Hi jnile1,
Your issue might be due to insufficient power supply. Please try using a USB-HUB for the hard drive, deactivate the built-in audio of the Pi, deactivate Bluetooth (both Raspberry Settings) and set the hw parameter for your sound card: https://www.max2play.com/en/wiki/optimizing-squeezelites-volume-control/

    Hi nesta39,
Please try to deactivate your USB-DAC setting and deactivate the Squeezelite player.

    Hi Bull,
Could you please try using the web interface to connect to Wifi and then tell us the error message you would receive.

    Hi guys,
You might want to check out kris.maddens‘ solution to use all channels of the Logilink 7.1 card. This should be applicable similarly to the IQaudIO card except with just two channels. Here is the link: https://www.max2play.com/forums/topic/logilink-7-1-configuration-on-latest-234-jessie-image/

The card’s slot can be set to hw:0 by deactivating the built-in audio in the Raspberry Settings. Then, you can use the parameter to write a solution. Maybe somebody could try to utilize the Pluginbuilder to be able to offer a solution for everybody. Flysurfer recently did a walkthrough of the Builder and how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWwQ0A1HoWY

    Hi AndrLee,
Please check if there are folders on your FreeNAS that have different rights assigned to them. You can check this easily by accessing the share on a PC in the Explorer (enter //sharename) and logging in as guest. The files that show up and are accessible are the files that should be accessed by the Piu as well.

    Hello Peter,
The Pi does require some sort of connection to be controlled and to run correctly. To make a standalone device, you would need to set up an access point with our plugin „Access Point Setup“. This way, the Pi creates its own WiFi network to access from your smartphone/tablet.
Here is an instructable I did on it: http://www.instructables.com/id/Raspberry-Pi-Mobile-Media-Center-with-Smartphone-C/
And here is the plugin page: https://www.max2play.com/en/portfolio/plugin-access-point-2/

Thank you for the feedback, we will look into making the documentation more transparent and understandable. Good to hear it all worked out!

    Hi Vanda,
Please check which audio output is selected in Kodi and which ones are available. You can find the output options under System -> Settings -> System -> Audio Output -> Audio Output Device

    Hi Bjarne,
Regarding your request for a standalone Pi to access without a WiFi network; that is the purpose of our Access Point Plugin. I made an Instructable on how to set up the plugin: http://www.instructables.com/id/Raspberry-Pi-Mobile-Media-Center-with-Smartphone-C/
On how to add music to your setup, the path you selected in your Squeezebox Server setup is the path where your music should be stored. You can add music to it manually, via a mounted path or by making it accessible through a SambaShare. Here is a video on our Filesystem/Mount plugin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5B1GVJJGG4

    23. November 2016 at 16:41 #24130

    Hi Hilary,
Please have a look at the basic settings of the MPD in our web interface. There you will find info on the music folder and its mount options:
To access your music on a network share, you have to setup the share with the mountpoint folder /mnt/mpd.

    Hi Mark,
The renaming I was referring to meant the name of the player and subsequently the name of the Pi. Since the preinstalled instance of Squeezelite takes its name from the Pi’s name, you should just change the name „max2play“ that is displayed in the menu „Settings/Reboot“ of the M2P web interface. After saving and a reboot, the name of the device and of its Squeezelite player should have changed in the LMS interface.
As mentioned in your 3., this should work. I just confirmed on a test device to make sure. Please try following the steps mentioned above.

That might be the problem, however, crucial is the Ampere of your power supply. The recommended one by HiFiBerry has 3,3 A at 18 V (resulting in ca. 60 Watt). We sell one that can achieve at least 72 Watt. Do you have a more powerful supply to test in order rule out this source of error?

    17. November 2016 at 15:05 #23936

    Hi Hilary,
You can add a file in the format of .pls or .m3u including your desired radio stations. You can do this by adding a share for the MPD player, the path is named in the MPD’s advanced options as well as information on how to add the music or in this case the radio stations playlist file and you can find out how to mount a samba share with our help section on the right in the GUI of the Filesystem Mount plugin.

    15. November 2016 at 16:51 #23913

If you are using a sound card, please select it in the Raspberry Settings. If you are not using one but instead the built-in audio jack, please select sysdefault – bcm2835…

    15. November 2016 at 16:20 #23912

    Hi Hilary,
For volume control, please add the parameter „hw:0“ in the option „mixer device“. If this does not work, please change it to „hw:1“. This connect your volume control of YMPD to the Amp’s.
You can add radio stations by adding the file linking the station to the MPD folder. However, if you are looking for a simpler interface that has most radio stations preloaded and the ability to add stations in its own web interface, try out Squeezelite in combination with the Squeezebox Server. Just install the Server with one click (select 7.9 nightly) and activate Squeezelite with the sysdefault hifiberry amp option selected (make sure MPD is not running anymore). Then, you can control the playback, volume, etc. via the Squeezebox Server web interface or with one of the great Apps for Android (Squeezer) or iOS (iPeng).

    Hi jorppana,
In the Raspberry Settings, is your selected sound card „Allo Piano HiFi DAC 2.1“?

    14. November 2016 at 15:19 #23905

    Hi guw,
You can of course do with your device and its sd card what you like. However, we do not recommend changing root password or the user.

    14. November 2016 at 15:17 #23904

    Hi wouthermans,
Please try out different speakers to rule out yours as a source of error.
Also, what do you have selected in the advanced options of your shairport player?

    14. November 2016 at 15:04 #23903

    Hi Hilary,
I just tested the MPD player myself to make sure there are no new errors in our newest version of Max2Play. However, I could, unfortunately, not replicate your issue.
What parameters are displayed in the „Soundcard Settings“? There should be a selection in the „Sound Device“ line indicating the hifiberry amp.
What power supply are you using? The Amp’s need a separate power supply since they power passive speakers, the Amp itself and the Pi (no normal Pi power supply should be connected).
