could you solve this problem? I have the same problem since more than half a year. Reinstalling max2play did not help, librespot does always complain about wrong authentication. In the librespot-Github there is a discussion about some problems with auhtentication which seems to target the same issue. Unfortunately the librespot version in max2play is an older one, so I guess, this might be one reason of the problem.
Upgrading the linux did unfortunately not work either, but finished with error-messages, so until now no idea on how to install perhaps a newer librestop-version for test. Beside this debian buster is outdated, so perhaps newer librespot versions does not work with it either.
Everyy solution to get spotify work again would be very, very nice 😉
