Hi, I am trying to stream music from the Traktor DJ software to my 5 squeezeboxes in the home network. The Squeezebox server runs on the Raspi. Using the Icecast server that runs on the same laptop as the DJ software. The Icecast server receives the stream, and I was also able to configure the stream in the Squeezebox Server (using this URL: http://192.168.178.25:8443/traktor.ogg). It runs for a while, but suddenly stops playing for a couple of seconds (sometimes more, sometimes less) and takes up the stream again.
Did play around with:
– The streaming speed in the DJ software (now: 44100 Hz, 192kBit/s)
– The queue-size in Icecast (now 245760 Byte).
– The buffer size for internet radio in the Squeezebox Server (now 10 sec).
– The radio station time limit in the Squeezebox Server (now 30 sec).
No real changes – and the strange thing is that the issues are happening rather randomly.Does anybody have a hint? I am not tied to Icecast – but that´s what I found commonly when searching for a solution.

You may find clues about the problems in the Squeezebox Server log. Otherwise you should check whether the Squeezebox server converts the stream again and is therefore starting to lag.
5. März 2021 at 16:09 #50885Hi MarioM, many thanks for the reply.
In the server log I found entries like these ones, but I am not sure what to do with them:
[21-03-04 21:24:17.5570] Slim::Formats::RemoteStream::open (105) Can’t open socket to [192.168.178.25:8443]: 110: Connection timed out

I was checking in the LMS interface „Extended (Erweitert)“ and could not find anything related.
9. März 2021 at 16:35 #50902Hi ggabriel,
Under Advanced/File Types „Prefer native format“ should be activated. Apart from that you can see the bitrate and the format of the stream during playback in the server’s web interface. If this matches the original format, no conversion takes place. Regarding your error messages, there could be a problem with Icecast as well. The best thing to do is to ask this question again in the Slimdevices forum. There you can get in touch with the developers of the Squeezebox server.
12. März 2021 at 15:42 #50935Hi ggabriel,
Nice that it works now. The bitrate should be displayed on the Squeezebox Server web interface main page next to the album/song cover.
