    Hello,

i use Max2Play on my Odroid XU4 which feeds my HifiBerry DAC with I2S data but sound is horrible!
Previously i used RPI3 with no issue but i found out that I2S data were different.

    What’s wrong?

    Thanks

    Hi fabien,

The Odroid image and the Raspberry Pi image are different systems. The Odroid is based on Ubuntu, while the Raspberry one is based on Raspbian Jessie lite.

HiFiBerry sound boards were created for the Raspberry Pi and its interface. Here is an official statement by HiFiBerry support team member Daniel:

    Hi,

the DAC needs a special interface from the CPU called I2S. This is not available on the Odroid. You can plug it onto the Odroid, but it wont work. The Odroid misses the necessary interface. Therefore our boards won’t work with it.

    Best regards
    Daniel

    Hello,

To solve incompatibility issue, i consider to introduce a USB->I2S XMOS interface card to connect Odroid XU4 to my I2S DAC.

I read some reviews and 2 products have retained my attention:

    – Singxer F1 XU208 XMOS, 170$ (galvanic isolation and 2 femtosecond CRYSTEK clocks)
    – Singxer C1 XU208 XMOS FEMTO AS318B ACCUSILICON, 70$ (same as F1 i guess but without isolation)
    https://kitsunehifi.com/product/singxer-c1-as318b/

What do you think about theses cards relative to SQ improvement? Galvanic isolation of F1 should make difference and justify upper price?

    Thanks

    Hi fabien,

Unfortunately, we have not had any experience with these products yet.

However, we hope you find the right setup for your needs 🙂

In case you have not seen it yet, here is also an active discussion on the linked device. You might want to ask about compatibility there:
