Hello. I am having trouble with Squeezebox server/Squeezeplay/Digi+ Pro. Problem is, no sound output to external DAC via Coax SPDIF. There are actually several problems and I will describe them. First the versions:
    Linux max2play 4.4.41-v7+ #942 SMP Mon Jan 9 15:00:25 GMT 2017 armv7l GNU/Linux

    Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 – 1493198727 @ Wed May 3 04:10:56 UTC 2017
    Hostname: max2play
    Server IP Address: 192.168.49.22
    Server HTTP Port Number: 9000
    Operating system: Debian – EN – utf8
    Platform Architecture: armv7l-linux
    Perl Version: 5.20.2 – arm-linux-gnueabihf-thread-multi-64int
    Audio::Scan: 0.95
    Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1)
Total Players Recognized: 0 <<< is this an issue? I am using Squeezeplay on a Mac

Plugin Google Music v6.0 (configured for my G music account)
Squeezeplay Version 7.8.0r959 (OSX – downloaded from Sourceforge)
Media Library /mnt/music-cloud (via CIFS share mount to local NAS)

Issues: Using Squeezeplay I get no output to Digi+ Pro through LMS. The external DAC doesn’t show any signs of a signal. ympd works fine and I get my DAC to play at 24/192kHz.
Squeezeplay set for Radio: select station works fine, starts streaming fine, no output
Squeezeplay set for Google Music: Browse Libary works fine, pick an artist/album works fine, start song – response: Unable to retrieve Google Music track (see logs below)
Squeezeplay set for My Music: Album Artists empty.
LMS check for media library – mount point ok, rescan media library – response:
    Discovering files/directories: /mnt/music-cloud (1 of 1) Complete 00:00:04
Media scan terminated unexpectedly (Scanning Progress)
    Total Time: 00:00:04 (Saturday, May 6, 2017 / 12:35 pm)

The Google Music problem might be unrelated. I have been reading blogs about authentication problems with the Google api. However, I am able to see my G Music library, but when I attempt to retrieve a song, I receive the failure notice.

Any help is appreciated. Vielen Dank und weiter mit der guten Arbeit! 🙂

    Here is an update:

Rebooted several times, enabled Squeezelite. In LMS under Player I now see max2play and Squeezeplay. The library scanner for the CIFS mount is also doing it’s job now. Songs appear to be streaming now, I see activity on the DAC (PCM 44.1K sampling) and I get sound for stream from the local library and Radio. Was another reboot the cause why things are working now? Is there a way to set the Digi+ Pro to 24/192khz?

Google Music remains problematic. I see the same repeat errors in the log files:

    Hi atmfrank,

How have you installed Google Music plugin, have you installed using Sqeezebox server plugin ?, or have you added it as a 3rd party plugin by using a repository link ?

Please make sure that you install it using Install special Plugins for Squeezebox Server on the Sqeezebox server plugin webpage.

    Best Regards,

    Hallo Mohammad.

I followed your advice and put a little trust in the M2P team. Have to say, you folks have figured out a few things. I got the Google Music part working now, but only after I did a complete re-install of the LMS server and plugin. No, I didn’t use a 3rd party plugin before. After the re-install, I signed in again to Google Music with my credentials and a registered Google ID. Helpful to know that you need to use the „Google Framework ID“ as presented by the „Device ID“ Android app.

    Remaining issues:

    1) LMS server is binding itself to the wlan0 interface. Why? I have both eth0 and wlan0 running. Right now, LMS is skipping the music stream like crazy. When I stop the stream, network buffering seems to catch up and play the stream cleanly for 2-3 minutes before it starts stuttering again. Very annoying. I know I can shut down wlan0 and restart LMS, which is what I will start next. Hope to have LMS bind to eth0 and see if that stops the stuttering. Either way, my wifi connection at home is excellent, so I think something else is the problem.

(edited): skipping continues with LMS bound to eth0. So it’s not a network interface problem. Appears to be happening with G Music streams and with the local library and NAS streams, but it took 6-7 minutes for the NAS stream to start skipping.

    2) Sampling rate remains at 44.1 kHz, no matter what I try. I opted for the CLI option -r 192000 under „Advanced Edit“ in the Squeezelite configuration and the tried the LMS setting in Player/Audio/Bitrate Limiting = 192000. Neither option produces 192000. My DAC handles 384kHz PCM if needed, but I’ll be happy with 192k.

If you have a recommendation on these two issues….that would be great.

    Beste Grüße, -frank

    Hello atmfrank,

    Thank you for your post.

Please make sure that you have the latest version of Max2Play, if not please download and burn new image.

For the first issue, please try to Follow the bellow steps:

    1. Please try to download the latest official version of LMS, which is Logitech Media Server v7.9, and reinstall LMS.
    2. if the the problem has not been solved, we recommend you to post this question on the SlimDevices forum :http://forums.slimdevices.com

Regarding the second issue, please follow the below steps:

    1. You do not have any plugin in the LMS that converts the audio file format.
    2. Make sure you are using the default settings in the audioplayer webpage, you can check the bitrate from the debug section in audioplayer page.

When you are using the HDMI, the audio sample rate is limited to max 48 KHz. You can check the following website for testing:

    Best Regards,
