    Hi Guys, I got the HiFiBerry DAC+ Bundle incl. Raspberry Pi und Max2Play – Raspberry Pi 3 Modell B – raspberry-pi-3_94

    Question: Can I watch via KODI -max2play version (2:18.2-1~stretch) content in the format HEVC H.265 or do I need to upgrade to Pi 4 ?

    Hi stf1,

    this depends on the resolution and data rate, but the Pi 3B will probably be too weak for this. You would need a Pi 4 to be able to watch Full HD or 4k videos with h.265 smoothly.

    Edit: I’m sorry, I overlooked the resolution specs in the title. But the point remains – in principle, the Pi 3 can decode the files, but it will probably be brought to its knees by them.
