Which sound card allows to input the TV sound in the multi-room ? The idea is to
be able to listen to the sound from the TV in the other rooms. I think the jack
from the RPI is output only, so not useable.25. August 2016 at 16:37 #22571Hello jof,
The Raspberry only has outputs. So you need a soundcard with an input. The wolfson cirrus logic has some inputs.
26. August 2016 at 19:35 #22663Hello Christoph
Thank you for the tip.
Do you know how the input can be integrated in the squeezebox ? (Sorry, i am not a code specialist, i choose max2play for its easy web interface)
I see the wolfson cirrus logic card is supported on Max2Play. But screeshots only show the use of output of the soundcard.
14. September 2016 at 1:37 #23004Hi,
isnt there a way of turning a raspberry pi and an usb soundcard with line in into a device that streams the audio to the network so you can acces that audiostream by entering the url in to the squeezebox server?19. Dezember 2016 at 11:13 #24981Hi, I want to able listen to the TV outputin multiple rooms, too. I think the way to go is to use the RCA (audio chinch) output of the TV. But how to get into to RPI ? In the perfect world I would use input and output (amp in my case) of one RPI at the same time.
Has anyone experience with this setup ? Hardware recommendations?
Thanks!
13. Januar 2017 at 17:00 #25877Hi Chris,
As mentioned in your other thread, please check out this solution by nonchalant: https://www.max2play.com/forums/topic/using-multiple-inputs-with-max2play-on-rpi2cirruslogic-sound-card-independently/27. Juli 2017 at 14:50 #30219Hello,
I’d like to draw attention to this topic again, as there is a new sound card: https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/boards/hifiberry-digi-io/
My LG Tv allowes (good) Internal speakers and Optical digital output at the same time.
Would be awesome to integrate that into a max2play multiroom (my kitchen has a see through) system with digital input. (or all other kind of digital Inputs, e.g. turntable, Xbox, set-top-box by TV company..)Maybe there is a bigger market oppertunity than just me.
greetings

21. Mai 2018 at 17:56 #35792How is it possible to select usb audio-in source in LMS? Audio-out is already working. My intention is to
stream dvb-s sound over the multiroom system. Audio multiroom streaming from NAS source, as well as Spotify
is working very good, and without delay. Looking the web for days, no solution found. When usb audio card is
recognized, and working, there must be a way to get audio-in as well working!23. Mai 2018 at 12:57 #35834Hi amigo,
There is no direct solution for audio-in. However, there is the wave input plugin for the LMS that might help you along.
4. Juni 2018 at 20:52 #36080Hey there. I am wanting to do the same thing and it looks like the Wolfson card may be the only solution. Check out this post: https://www.max2play.com/en/forums/topic/using-multiple-inputs-with-max2play-on-rpi2cirruslogic-sound-card-independently/
5. Juni 2018 at 14:33 #36089Generally, the problem with input is lag time. Any solution will have at least 2-4 seconds lag and requires a lot of processing from each end device to synchronize streams. The Wolfson card, which is no longer being manufactured, takes care of some of that but still cannot eliminate the lag.
