    Hi waterdrinkingman,
You can update your version of Kodi in the Webinterface-tab „Kodi“ under the section „Kodi / XBMC start installation – Replaces current Version…“. Just paste the URL for the Kodi installation you desire (must be the .deb package link) and click on „Kodi/XBMC start installation“

    Hello!
I’m running max2play (updated to the latest version) on a Raspberry Pi 1 model B.
I wanted to use Kodi and it launches correctly, I added video sources (from NAS) and everything seemed to work. But when I try to play any files, there is no video playback, just a black screen (no video, no audio). Only the GUI shows.
I tried fiddling with interlacing settings, but to no avail.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    Okay, so I re-installed max2play another time.
    Have let it update itself.

Have installed the vnc server, tried it, found it cannot display the kodi screen, logged off from it, deinstalled it, rebooted.

LMS and squeezelite are running, they show process IDs.

But shairport won’t start up, it tells me:

Trying to launch … NOT successful Click here to show detailed information
    startup
couldn’t create avahi client: Daemon not running!
    Calling avahi-publish-service failed !
    Calling mDNSPublish failed !
    Could not establish mDNS advertisement!

Why is that and what else do I need to configure for this „out of the box“ environment?!

Recently Kodi told me that 15.1 is available. Is it possible to update the Kodi that is installed on max2play?
What is the best procedure for that?

I can’t start kodi from the webinterface anymore after updating to Isengard with the link provided at this website: https://www.max2play.com/download/15362/

    Here is the detailed info:

Trying to launch … NOT successful Click here to show detailed information
sudo: unable to resolve host MAXSQUEZZZ
    Use Interface eth0 with -m e2:d9:03:fb:56:f7
    Stopping Squeezelite
    Stopping Shairport
/sbin/start-stop-daemon: warning: failed to kill 2797: No such process
/usr/local/lib/kodi/kodi.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libGLESv2.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Here is what happened: I tried to update M2P through the webinterface, but that sort of hung and I could not access the webinterface anymore.
Because I am running Vnc server also and that still worked I used that and the software updater on Lubuntu to update everything.
After that everything worked: LMS VNC except XBMC which was back to version 12 (I had 13, from this website). So through the webinterface I installed Isengard and I got the errormessage described as above.
If I try to start Kodi through VNC it also does not work.

I guess it has to do with this shared libraries.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
I don’t mind using terminal through VNC if I am provided with the right commands.

    Thanks

    Hi René,

there is currently no easy update method for Kodi on the Raspberry PI. I don’t think, that the packages provided via APT-GET will work as expected.

Do you have some special features, that you are looking for?

    Hi.

I like to update Kodi/XBMC on my rqspberry pi. I tried the link from the download page as mentioned in the FAQ. But this package seems to be for Odroid, the update runs in a loop until I reboot the rasberry.
Where can I find a package for raspberry? Or can I update on the console via

    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install kodi

    Greetings

    René
