To narrow down the problem, you could of course try piCorePlayer. Nevertheless, I suspect the problem has to do with the Max2Play configuration. Because normally you should be able to mount your hard drive in the file system/mount plugin. In any case, this is not normal behaviour on the part of Max2Play, so it is of course in our interest to find a solution to the problem.
Edit: Could you please check if your hard disk is formatted with „vfat“?
