Max2Play started with SqueezePlug, but we have since built the Max2Play image considerably. Here you can see the first announcement: https://www.max2play.com/en/2015/02/squeezeplug-on-max2play-announcement/
However, the SqueezePlug image is the old version of our collaboration, the Raspberry Pi Max2Play image is the result of our work on constantly improving the image.
