You are correct in that the setup of the „wifi“ interface will be changed by the „accesspoint“ setup.

So you do not see the „max2play“ SSID correct?

You get the info that you provided how? By connecting the hardwire ethernet? or hdmi/keyboard?

Please provide the response to these commands:

ll /usr/sbin/hostapd
sudo /etc/init.d/hostapd stop
sudo /etc/init.d/hostapd start
ps -efl | grep hostapd
