Hello,
I have the following set up:
Raspi 2 with max2play as Squeezebox Server with Flac Music, two Raspi B+ as Squeezelite Player with HiFi Berry DAC+ (all devices running on LAN). Everything alone runs fine and flawless. Only when I run the two players in synchronous mode, the music gets dropouts or even stops after a certain while. I tried different adjustments under the Squeezelite Player (Extended Options) and also under the Squeezebox Server (Option/Player/Synchronisation) but nothing helps. Has somebody an idea how I can get the system continouesly running flawless in synchronous mode because that is the main reason for me to use the Squeezebox Server System.
Hi Heiner,
thank you for your answer. The hardware volume control helped to get rid of the cracks. This is a big step forward.
I tried before a lot the buffer rate etc for the synchronous mode, but I didn´t find any adjunstment which could solve the dropouts and stopping of the music. I also tried it in the squeezebox server adjustments, but also there I didn´t find a satisfying solution.
Can it be that the raspberry 2 as a squeezebox server is simply overstrained ?
According to most long-time users of Max2Play, the LMS can handle a very large amount of music and data in general without missing a step with RPi 2 and 3. However, there can always be a specific factor that could slow it down.
You can try removing some of your more heavy files from the library temporarily, to see if this changes the performance.
You can also check the Health Checker on the Settings/Reboot menu, to see if the Pi is working at capacity.
