    Hi all,

    I run max2play version 2.44 and use Kodi version 15.1-150901-3

    I want to install the latest version from Kodi. I try to do that by pushing the button „upgrade Kodi to latest version“

    But it doesn’t work and gives me the following installation information.

    Installations package: kodiupgradepi
Installation started - This Messages refreshes every 3 seconds to show current installation status. When finished this message disappears.

    I don’t know what to do to get the latest version. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi ad6922,

    I just installed a fresh 2.44 image to check and Kodi should start out with version 15.2-2~jessie from the first boot.

    If you still have an old Raspbian Wheezy image, you can either burn a fresh jessie image or find a wheezy version of Kodi 17.

    Hello Heiner,

    thans for the info.

    Maybe I got the wrong expectations from the option to upgrade button to the latest version as I would expect that this would give me
    kodi version 17 on my system.

    But if I understand you correctly then this will not work and probably will only bring you the latest version from where you’re already in (so the latest version of Kodi 15 if koi 15 is installed).

    Do I understand it right then?

    Hi ad,

    The upgrade is indeed for 17.4 of Kodi. However, there might be dependency issues if you have a an older image that you updated (system update, not Kodi update).

    So if in Settings/Reboot in the Debug Info, it says wheezy instead of jessie, you have to either burn the fresh image based on Raspbian jessie or use a wheezy-based Kodi installation of version 17.

    i have the wheezy variant.

    I tried to find 17.4 but can’t find it. Any help appreciated. Not very well know how this should work.

    Hi ad,

    It seems Kodi 17 is exclusive to Raspbian jessie or newer. So we would recommend burning a fresh jessie image to get the best Kodi 17 experience.

    Hi there, I’m running 2.45 on an Odroid U3. Unfortunately, there is no „Update Kodi“ Button. Where can I find a http link to install the latest kodi version? Thanks, lontano

    Unfortunately, compatibility with newer versions of Kodi and Odroid seems to have disappeared. (https://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/1422-odroid-xu4-kodi-17/)
