I have setup latest version of M2P for hiFiberry (DAC+ Pro) on Pi3.
I have purchased premium package.
I want to link my music which is stored on a FreeNAS v 9.1 /mnt/Big-Blob/Music IP Addr :192.168.1.7. It is presented as a cifs share and it works fine through nautilus file manager – I can find the folder and play music files on my PC/phone.
How do I get M2P to link to my music folder on freenas ?
The freenas share does not require a login id or password so how do I set that in the M2P Filesystem Mount tab ?
Thank you9. November 2016 at 15:38 #23829Hi AndrLee,
Just try leaving the space for the login id unchanged and fill in the other parameters accordingly for your NAS. The share should be recognized either way.9. November 2016 at 21:43 #23848Thanks for a reply. I am not having any success connecting to my FreeNAS music share through your product.
Here are some of the variations that I have tried ;
Path Mountpoint Type Options
//192.168.1.7/mnt/Big-Blob/Music /mnt/share cifs user=name,password=pass,sec=ntlm,iocharset=utf8
//192.168.1.7/mnt/Big-Blob/Music /mnt/share cifs user=nobody,password=,sec=none,iocharset=utf8
//192.168.1.17/Big-Blob /mnt/share cifs user=nobody,password=,sec=none,iocharset=utf8 Save
//192.168.1.7/Big-Blob /mnt/share cifs —-this left completely blank—–
//192.168.1.17/share /mnt/share cifs user=name,password=pass,sec=ntlm,iocharset=utf8Here are the error messages from M2P
mount: /etc/fstab: parse error: ignore entry at line 10. Retrying with upper case share name mount error(6): No such device or address Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) Retrying with upper case share name mount error(6): No such device or address Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) Retrying with upper case share name mount error(6): No such device or address Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) Timed out Password for root@//192.168.1.7/Big-Blob: mount error(13): Permission denied Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) Retrying with upper case share name mount error(6): No such device or address Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)
Mountpoint NOT added! Please refer to the description below!To connect to all my FreeNAS shares from RedHat Linux all I need to do in the file manager is to „connect to server“, pull down „windows shares“ and then enter the Freenas ip address „192.168.1.7“ and all the cifs shares appear in a new window including the Music share.
Can you provide any guidance as to what I have to do with your product to get it to connect to the FreeNAS cifs shares ?
10. November 2016 at 14:42 #23863Have you tried the button „Show Network Devices“ yet? It should give you the option of mounting a path with the click of a button („set path“) once it has found your share.
Also, I made a video on the Filesystem/Mount plugin that might help you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5B1GVJJGG410. November 2016 at 19:11 #23866Yes, thank you for the suggestion, I have clicked on the Show network Devices blue button ; it shows nothing.
I already watched the video. No use for FreeNAS.ok so after much playing around this setting is working for connecting my FreeNAS Music cifs share to M2P
Path Mountpoint Type Options
//192.168.1.7/Music /mnt/share cifs guest,soft,sec=none,domain=localNow to get the files „into“ squeezebox server for playback.
This has taken three days of a lot of effort – far too much for what is meant to be a polished product AND that you actually have to pay for to get basics like wifi connectivity. I am really disappointed that it has been so difficult to get this last link going. However, all the other players that I tried failed in some other way – wifi connectivity, support for hifiberry dac pro+ and so on so from the perspective M2P is the best one for me. Thank you.
14. November 2016 at 14:43 #23901Hi AndrLee,
Sorry about your issues, the setup is usually not as complicated but thanks for sharing the correct mounting options for your FreeNAS. I would, however, like to point out that WiFi and all features of the WiFi/LAN plugin (and the Filesystem/Mount, Audio Player, Squeezebox Server and Kodi) are completely free and do not require a premium license.22. Dezember 2016 at 22:58 #25184I had simulation issues when trying und to connect to my NAS. Forget the Web interface. Just go to /etc/fstab and enter the stuff right into it. Afterwards „mount -a“ and everything should be fine.
