USB DAC Audio Settings

Just wondered about audio settings in Player Tab as re-setup Max2Play today and wanted to make a clean backup image and couldn’t work out why my Meridian Explorer 2 DAC wasn’t show 3 lights when playing FLAC 24bit 192kHz so went into the Soundcard settings which i had set to „default“ (4th from top) so changed to iec958 and all lights lit-up

So wondered is it just a case that iec958 sends a raw signal to the DAC where default downsamples ?
